Shellharbour FC: Macedonian-Australian Community & Footy on the South Coast
Founded by members of the Macedonian-Australian community in the Shellharbour and Wollongong region in the mid-1970s (originally under names such as Shell Cove Barbarians and Illawarra Pelister), Shellharbour FC has become a stalwart of regional football. With home base at Barrack Heights Sports Field in Shellharbour, the club proudly wears red and black and remains a hub for local youth, families and supporters.
More than a football club, Shellharbour FC is a cultural anchor: a place where heritage and sport meet. For the Australian Macedonian Council (NSW), the club is a vivid example of how our community has built institutions, on the South Coast, as much as in the city, that champion both Macedonian identity and Australian sporting life.
We celebrate Shellharbour FC for its commitment to community, its longstanding presence and for providing pathways for young players to develop their talent in a setting grounded in culture, pride and football.
